DINACHARYA: Daily Routine – the day’s teaching. Within the body there is a basic natural rhythm that governs our naturalurges. Our natural urges are food, sex and sleep; also seen as digestion, creativity and rest. Artificial rhythms created by our society and our own desires to overindulge in our urges have led to the loss. Dinacharya steps in to facilitate the process of our unique balance to re-emerge.
Treating pragya aparadh, “mistake of the intellect”, keeps us busy.
Charaka Samhita (classic text in ayurveda), defines pragya-aparadh as the source of all disease, since disease originates when the heart, mind or body loses its connection with natural intelligence. Pragya-aparadh means “mistake/ crime (aparadh) of the intellect (pragya).” The intellect, with the task of discriminating between “this” and “that” is constantly engaged in Pragya-aparadh (i.e., identifying with the part and losing the whole).
Remember, within each one of us we contain perfect health, wealth, bliss and harmony. The way we live out each day will determine the degree of balance or imbalance we bring into our life. The cleansing and nourishing practices can be used by everyone, they are intended to heighten the function of each of the sense organs.
